Our historic Victorian mansion, built in 1883, offers a unique and charming setting for weddings, corporate events, and other celebrations.
Our Story
The Allan House has a rich history, dating back to its original owner, Scottish immigrant John Allan. Initially used as a residence, the house was later converted into a girls' school and boarding home. In 1905, the Thrasher family purchased the property, and it remained in their ownership for 94 years. In 1999, the Ross family acquired The Allan House and meticulously restored it to its former glory, while incorporating modern amenities.
Our Venue
Our historic mansion and outdoor courtyard provide both indoor and outdoor entertaining areas, nestled in the heart of Downtown Austin. The Victorian home boasts original heart pine wood floors, impressive floor-to-ceiling windows, crystal chandeliers, and modern furnishings. The expansive stone courtyard is lined with heritage oak trees, mountain laurels, and other native foliage, creating an intimate urban oasis.
Services
We offer a range of services to make your event truly unforgettable. Our venue amenities include:
- Indoor and outdoor event spaces with multiple ceremony locations and reception arrangements
- Exclusive use of both indoor and outdoor spaces, including lovely parlors, wide verandas, and lush courtyard
- Catering prep kitchen and outdoor sound stage for event entertainment
- Tables and chairs for up to 150 guests, as well as black wrought iron bistro furniture for up to 40 guests
- Decorative outdoor lighting, including up-lighting around the fence line and in the trees; white twinkle lights throughout the outdoor areas
- Two private changing suites and a one-hour ceremony rehearsal (scheduled around other event rental times)
