Ford Aviation Consultants, founded in 1999, is a dedicated and passionate advocate for the preservation and development of general aviation airports in the United States. Our Services

The Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grant process can be long and complicated, and many general aviation airports lack the resources to engage in it effectively. Whether you're a City Manager with multiple responsibilities or a full-time Airport Manager, we can help you navigate the AIP process and secure the funding you need.

Our services include AIP Grant Application Preparation, where we work closely with the FAA Airports Office to prepare all the necessary forms and supporting documentation. We also provide guidance on AIP eligibility for various projects, including planning, airport development, land acquisition, and noise implementation.

In addition, we can help you formulate a project by guiding you through the preparation of a current airport layout plan and an airport capital improvement plan. These documents are essential for an AIP development grant application.

We understand that AIP grants cover only 90 percent of project costs, so we can assist you in securing other sources of funds, such as state grants and loans. We can also help you select the right consultants for your project by drafting Requests for Qualifications and Requests for Proposals.

Lastly, we can counsel you on how to effectively collaborate with local pilots associations and educate government officials and the local community on the benefits of the airport.
