McLeans Restaurant was founded in 1965 by Mack McLean at its original location on West Broad Street. In the 1970s, the restaurant was sold to Hyde and Pat Ingram, who expanded with a second location in the Hanover Industrial Air Park. A shortlived outpost opened on West Grace Street in the Fan neighborhood in 1980. Dionna Wagner (now Kelleher) began working at the Broad Street location as a server in 1985. After the Ingrams divorced in 1988, Pat Ingram retained the Broad Street location and sold it to Fred and Sheila Wagner, Dionna's parents. Dionna officially purchased the restaurant from her parents in 2008.In 2010, McLean's moved a few blocks down West Broad Street to its current address at 3205 West Broad Street. As a familyowned and operated establishment, we welcome everyone to our table like family. Our mission is to continue a Richmond tradition of homestyle cooking since 1965. We strive to serve hearty, comforting meals that taste like they came straight from grandma's kitchen. Each dish is prepared with a warm smile in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
