Located in the heart of Capitol Hill, Cafe Pettirosso has been a beloved fixture in the Seattle community for over two decades. Our story began in the 1990s when Robin Wright founded a small coffee cart, which eventually grew into a cozy cafe on the corner of 11th and Pike. When Robin's departure from the business in 2011, Yuki and Miki Sodos, sisters and co-owners of Bang Bang Cafe, stepped in to take the reins and revitalize the cafe.
With their combined passion for food, drink, and community, Yuki and Miki breathed new life into the cafe, updating the space and menu to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Today, Cafe Pettirosso is a full-service cafe and bar, offering a wide range of specialty coffee drinks, locally sourced cocktails, and a diverse menu of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.
Our Story
In the early 2000s, Yuki first encountered Cafe Pettirosso when she met Robin Wright, the original owner, while working at Aria salon (now Retrofit) next door. Robin welcomed Yuki with a warm smile and a perfectly pulled shot of espresso. As Yuki joined the team, she began to learn the art of traditional Italian-style coffee-making on the cafe's vintage espresso machine. Through her time at Pettirosso, Yuki built close relationships with the regular customers, many of whom became like family.
Under the Sodos' leadership, Cafe Pettirosso continues to thrive, showcasing a mix of classic and innovative dishes, from artisanal sandwiches to decadent pastries. Our chefs use only the freshest ingredients, locally sourced whenever possible, to craft a menu that appeals to a wide range of tastes.
