Roger Brown, our founder, was a passionate football player and entrepreneur who brought his love of food, sports, and community together to create a one-of-a-kind dining experience. As a former NFL player, Roger understood the importance of bringing people together and creating memories that last a lifetime. Our Story
Roger Brown's Restaurant and Sports Bar has been a staple in the Portsmouth community for nearly two decades. Our journey began with a simple idea - to bring people together through good food, good drinks, and good company. Over the years, we've expanded our menu to include a wide range of options to cater to all tastes and dietary preferences. From our famous jumbo lump Maryland-style crab cakes and Low Country shrimp and grits to our hand-cut steaks and award-winning hamburgers, every dish is carefully crafted to delight your taste buds.
Our Facilities
At Roger Brown's, we have two banquet rooms that can accommodate up to 180 guests. Each room boasts a large dance floor, A/V services, and one with a large granite bar. Our banquet rooms are perfect for weddings, corporate events, and other celebrations. We also offer full bar services and a variety of food options to suit your needs.

Excellent Service at Roger Brown's
Many reviewers have praised the exceptional service provided by Spring/Ava, who goes above and beyond to ensure customers have a memorable experience. Her friendly and attentive nature has left a lasting impression on many visitors. The restaurant's relaxing atmosphere and excellent food have also received numerous compliments.
However, some reviewers have had some issues with the service. June Dockins felt that their waitress was slow and confused during their visit, while P. noted that their waitress was the only positive aspect of their visit, despite the food being subpar. Tanesha Flythe had some issues with the food being overcooked and underseasoned, but praised the efficient service. K. Bear found the service to be cool, but was disappointed with the unorganized event and subpar food.
