Our History
Lorena Pharmacy has a rich history that dates back to 1922 when a small pharmacy first opened its doors on the corner of Jane and Stevenson Street, now known as Lorena Street and Whittier Blvd. The original store was small, with an 11-straw soda fountain where ice cream sodas sold for 15 cents. Pharmacists compounded and made prescriptions from bulk chemicals using mortar and pestles. Over the years, the store underwent several remodelings and expansions, including a name change to Lorena Pharmacy in 1942. In 1962, our family purchased the pharmacy, and since then, we have continued to grow and innovate, staying ahead of the curve in pharmacy technology and patient care.
