Experience the best sport fishing on the Outer Banks
Our Legacy
For over 85 years, the Albatross Fleet has been the premier sport fishing charter on the Outer Banks. Established in 1937, we are North Carolina's oldest charter fishing business. Our fleet of three unique boats, the Albatross I, Albatross II, and Albatross III, are custom-built and meticulously maintained to ensure a safe and enjoyable fishing experience. Our captains, Bryan Mattingly, Shane Austin, and Sumner Mattingly, are not only skilled fishermen but also local leaders and contributors to the community.

Our Boats
The Albatross Fleet's unique boats are designed to provide a comfortable and stable platform for fishing the Outer Banks' waters. Each boat is equipped with state-of-the-art electronics and expertly maintained to ensure a safe and enjoyable fishing experience. Our boats are not only beautiful to look at but also engineered to withstand the harsh marine environment of the Outer Banks.
Round Stern Boats
Round stern boats, such as the Albatross, were developed along the Outer Banks sometime around the turn of the last century. They dominated the waterfronts of all coastal Carolina fishing communities through the early 1950's. The design was one of pure function, providing fishermen with a boat that allowed them to fish effectively in the shallow waters of the Outer Banks.
