Oropeza, Stones & Cardenas is a Key West-based real estate law firm that has been serving the community for over two decades. Our attorneys, all natives of Key West, are deeply rooted in the island community and are committed to providing customized solutions to meet and exceed the needs of our clients. Our office is located in a historic 1880s "Conch" house in Old Town Key West, adding to the charm and character of our firm.
Our History
In 1997, original partners Ginny Stones and Susan Cardenas formed Stones & Cardenas, bringing together their expertise in land use, zoning, and real estate matters. In 2017, Gregory S. Oropeza joined the firm as Managing Partner, bringing his extensive experience in real estate, land use, and litigation. In 2020, the firm expanded to Big Pine Key with the acquisition of True Title Agency, which was renamed Oropeza, Stones & Cardenas in 2024. In 2021, Associate Attorney Elizabeth "Lisa" M. Kehoe joined the firm, and in 2023, she became a Partner.

We focus our litigation practice solely in the area of Real Estate & Land Use Litigation, including issues that stem from commercial lease disputes, land use issues, workout litigation, partnership disputes, title disputes, real estate brokerage matters, condominium association and cooperative corporation disputes, sale and acquisition disputes, or other related commercial and business disputes.
Community Association Law
We represent condominiums and homeowner associations, providing services in both creation and operation of condominium association and homeowner association, including assistance to Boards and management, preparation and conduct of meetings, answering questions about documents and the pertinent law, enforcement of covenants and restrictions, and drafting and negotiating contracts for provision of services.

We handle the negotiations, purchases, and sales of all types of business transactions, including business acquisitions, and provide counsel in preparing and drafting corporate documents.
