John began working in Asian restaurants during high school and continued through college. With a business degree from NCSU, he opened his first restaurant in 2002 before co-founding Sushi O in 2010 with his wife Amy.

Amy brings family restaurant experience to Sushi O's operations. Having worked in her family's restaurant since 1997, she provides management expertise and culinary insights that complement John's business background.
