L'ecole des Petits is a preschool located in Napa, California, offering a French preschool program for children aged 2-5 years. Our program is based on the French preschool system, consisting of petite section, moyenne section, and grand section de maternelle. We follow the number 1 French editor for school education and learning for different ages, entirely created by French teachers and approved by the French National Education Ministery.
Our Curriculum
At l'ecole des petits, we provide a rigorous French immersion curriculum that includes pre-reading, pre-writing, pre-math, and fine motor skill development. Our goal is to help children develop their creativity, personality, memory, comprehension, autonomy, and provide them with the fundamentals needed for school at the age of 5. We strive to foster the same sense of security and well-being in the classroom as the children enjoy at home. The entire morning takes place in French, with some English words only if necessary.
We believe that young children have a natural ability to learn and memorize, and we are always amazed by this faculty. We want children to enjoy learning French, and we dedicate an important time of the day to art, music, storytelling, and poetry. Our preschool is open from 9am to 2:00pm Monday through Thursday. You can choose between 3 or 4 days a week.

At l'ecole des petits, we believe that the foundations for thinking, language, vision, attitudes, aptitudes, and other characteristics are laid down during the early years. During this vital period, children can learn a second language as easily as they learn the first. We use this natural ability to teach French and provide a caring, supportive, educational, and nurturing environment that promotes the well-being of young children.

Our Founder
L'ecole des petits was founded by Sandrine Pavon, a French native from Bordeaux, France. Sandrine arrived in the Napa Valley in 2005 with her family and quickly realized how much she loved teaching French. She began to give French lessons in her spare time and was inspired to open a French preschool in her home. In 2011, l'ecole des petits became a reality.
