According to a research study conducted by the University of Texas, hand-washing your car at home can actually harm your vehicle's finish. The study showed that hand-washing can produce scratches that penetrate as deep as 1/10 of the total thickness of the car's paint. This is because the water pressure from a garden hose is often too low and the detergent too harsh, causing damage to the car's finish.

Poor Quality of Car Wash
Several reviewers have expressed frustration with the car wash's inability to properly clean their vehicles.
