At Roots Behavioral Health, we believe that well-being is a complex and deeply personal journey. That's why we've built our approach to mental healthcare around empathy, innovation, personalization, and preventative care. Our team of compassionate professionals is dedicated to providing integrative behavioral healthcare to Austinites and Texans using innovative, evidence-based therapies.
Our Story
Roots Behavioral Health was founded in 2016 by husband-and-wife team Brent and Andrea Turnipseed with a mission to address the pressing need for affordable and accessible behavioral healthcare in Austin. Today, we've grown to include two locations, an additional physician, thirteen physician assistants, seven psychotherapists, and a roster of amazing support staff. We've also expanded our services to include ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, a groundbreaking approach for the treatment of depression, anxiety, and other serious conditions.
Our Approach
At Roots Behavioral Health, we take a holistic approach to mental health care. We believe that everyone is unique, and that's why we develop personalized care plans aimed at treating the whole individual, not just their symptoms. Our experienced providers, including psychiatrists, physician assistants, and psychotherapists, use innovative and evidence-based therapies to help people overcome mental health challenges. Whether it's depression, anxiety, PTSD, or other conditions, we're committed to providing high-quality care that prioritizes empathy, compassion, and accessible treatment options.
Our Services
Our comprehensive behavioral healthcare services have been carefully designed to help Texans cope with a broad spectrum of life's challenges, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADD/ADHD, sleep issues, and more. We offer a range of services, including holistic psychiatry, psychotherapy, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. Our telehealth services allow patients to access care from the comfort of their own homes, and we accept most major insurance plans.
