Poor Experience with Legal Aid Services
Many reviewers shared their negative experiences with Legal Aid services, citing a lack of care and attention from the staff. Several reviewers reported that the staff was unhelpful, unprofessional, and did not listen to their concerns. In some cases, reviewers felt that the staff was more interested in collecting medical information rather than actually assisting them with their legal issues.
One reviewer reported being told to call Aging and Disabled Services Division, despite already having done so, and another reviewer was asked if they had a social worker, which they did not need. Reviewers also mentioned issues with scheduling appointments, with one reviewer not receiving a call from their scheduled consultant and another reviewer being left feeling neglected.
Additionally, some reviewers felt that the services offered were limited and did not meet their needs. For example, one reviewer was not able to get a referral to a pro-bono lawyer and was told that the service was unable to assist them with their specific case. Another reviewer was asked if they could pay legal fees, which started at an hourly rate of $500.00.
Mixed Reviews and Limited Services
While some reviewers had negative experiences, there were a few reviewers who had positive interactions with the Legal Aid services. One reviewer reported that the staff was incredibly friendly and offered other options or solutions to their issue. Another reviewer appreciated the free legal help and advice they received from the service.
However, it's worth noting that the services offered by Legal Aid seemed to be limited, with some reviewers feeling that they only assisted with certain types of cases or had limited resources. Additionally, some reviewers felt that the service was not well-organized or efficient, which led to frustration and disappointment.
Overall
The reviews for Legal Aid services were overwhelmingly negative, with many reviewers reporting poor experiences and limited services. While a few reviewers had positive interactions, the majority of reviewers felt that the service was unhelpful, unprofessional, and inefficient.
