Creative Imaging

Creative Imaging was founded in 1984 by Monique Malotte Gurr and Dean R. Gurr, who together have over six decades of combined experience in professional photography. Our journey began with Monique's pioneering work in one of the region's first 1-hour film processing labs and Dean's early passion for photographic portraiture, which he has honed since receiving his first professional camera at age 16. In 2009, Dean achieved the prestigious Certified Professional Photographer designation from the Professional Photographic Certification Commission, a distinction held by fewer than 3% of photographers nationwide. We specialize in creating timeless portraits that preserve family legacies, combining technical expertise with artistic vision to deliver consistent, high-quality results. Our commitment to excellence extends to every aspect of our work, from posing and lighting to retouching and print finishing.

Located in Oroville, California, we serve clients throughout Northern California with personalized service rooted in decades of industry knowledge. Our philosophy centers on the belief that photographic portraiture is a fine art, deserving of meticulous craftsmanship and genuine human connection. We approach every session with professionalism, creativity, and a deep understanding of how to make subjects feel comfortable and confident. Our extensive experience enables us to adapt to diverse client needs while maintaining the highest standards of quality. For over 35 years, we have been entrusted with capturing life's most meaningful moments, transforming them into cherished heirlooms.
