San Francisco University High School

University High School, located in San Francisco, is a school that challenges each individual to live a life of integrity, inquiry, and purpose larger than the self. We welcome students of demonstrated motivation and ability to engage in an education that fosters responsibility and the spirited pursuit of knowledge. Our mission is guided by our core values of Inquiry, Care, Integrity, Agency, and Interconnection. Our Community

Our community is composed of 480 students from 101 middle schools and 50 different zip codes. Our students come from a variety of backgrounds, and we are proud to have 59% of our students identify as students of color. Our faculty is equally diverse, with 48% of our faculty identifying as faculty of color. Our school is guided by a board of trustees of whom 57% identify as trustees of color.

Academics

We offer a rigorous academic program with 113 courses, including 95 electives. We believe that every student should have the opportunity to pursue their interests, and 60% of our students will create at least one Independent Study project during their time at UHS. We also offer 55+ student-led clubs and organizations, and 80% of our students take more than the two-year Arts requirement.

Athletics

At UHS, we believe in the importance of physical activity and offer a robust athletics program. We have 41 teams and 20 different sports, with 84% of students playing on at least one UHS team per year. Our athletics program is designed to encourage teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.

Financial Aid

We believe that every student should have access to a high-quality education, regardless of their financial situation. We provide $4.4M to the 21% of students who participate in our Financial Aid program. The average tuition cost for families participating in the Financial Aid program is $14,880.
