Experience You Can Trust, Results You Deserve

Our Story

At the Chicago School of Music, we have a rich history that spans over two decades. Established in 1998, our mission has remained unchanged - to offer exceptional music education to individuals of all ages. Our journey began as a collaborative effort between music industry professionals and educators who shared a passion for music and a commitment to excellence.

Our Story Begins

Our story starts with the idea of providing premier music education in a unique and innovative environment. Under the management of zzounds.com and harmonycentral.com, we established a hub for music education and private lessons, located at Piper's Alley in Chicago. During this time, we focused on developing our business model, building a team of talented teachers and managers, and offering music education program services to individuals of all ages.

A New Beginning

In 2001, under the direction of our current Director, Richard Schieler, we relocated to Chicago and Halsted, becoming an independent institution. This marked a new chapter in our journey, as we continued to grow and expand our programs, including the development of our EarlyBirds! program for early childhood music education.

Growing Success

Our success and reputation continued to grow, and in 2008, we proudly opened our second location, the Elmhurst Music Academy in Elmhurst. This marked a major milestone in our history, as we expanded our services to a new community and solidified our position as a leading provider of music education in the region.

Community and Convenience

At the Chicago School of Music, we believe that music education should be accessible, convenient, and FUN! Our central location in River North and the Near North Side allows us to cater to students from nearby neighborhoods, including River North, Lincoln Park, Old Town, Gold Coast, the Loop, Hyde Park, Wicker Park, Bucktown, and the South Side.

Expert Teaching Staff

Our combined teaching staff is handpicked for their qualifications, training, and experience. We offer individualized instruction and guidance, tailoring our teaching approach to meet the unique needs and learning styles of each student. Our teachers are not only knowledgeable in their respective instruments and genres but also possess an ability to motivate and inspire our students.

State-of-the-Art Facilities

Our spacious faculty environment is designed to inspire creativity and foster a love for music. We invite you to explore our facilities and experience the unique atmosphere that sets us apart from other music schools.

Conclusion

At the Chicago School of Music, we remain committed to our core values of accessibility, interactivity, and excellence in music education. We believe that music has the power to transform lives and bring people together. We invite you to join our music community and discover the joy and benefits of music education for yourself.
