Passageway Residence is an organization that provides adult mental health services in Miami-Dade County. As a community-based agency, it offers a variety of treatment and rehabilitation programs administered by a Comprehensive Service Team dedicated to helping individuals with severe and persistent mental illness establish a high-level of satisfying and functional living.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide supervised treatment to severe and persistent, chronically mentally ill individuals who are involved in the criminal justice system. The program is designed to facilitate the person's served transition from a hospital or penal institution to an independent, less restrictive environment of their choice and help them achieve control over their mental illness and/or any co-occurring disorders.

We seek to assist our persons served to develop awareness, insight, and acceptance of their mental illness. We strive to empower them to learn the skills to lead fruitful lives within the community.

Although Passageway works with individuals who have a limited capacity and ability to endure the rigors and joys of life, we assist to enrich their lives by focusing on their strengths and recovery. We persist in providing a secure environment that is accepting of the person's served limitations to educate them on the skills needed to return to the community and exercise their human rights. Our Services

Passageway offers a range of services, including Case Management, Psychosocial, and Residential programs, all designed to help individuals with severe and persistent mental illness achieve a high-level of satisfying and functional living. We are committed to providing exceptional, personalized care, and have been awarded the highest level of accreditation by CARF International for our programs. We are also licensed as a Residential Level II Facility by ACHA. Our programs are designed to facilitate the person's served transition from a hospital or penal institution to an independent, less restrictive environment of their choice.

Our Accreditation and Licenses

Passageway has been awarded the highest level of accreditation by CARF International for its Case Management, Psychosocial, and Residential programs. We are also licensed as a Residential Level II Facility by ACHA. Our accreditation and licenses demonstrate our commitment to exceptional, personalized care and our dedication to providing programs and services of the highest quality.

Our Successes

We are proud of our successes, including reducing the number of mandatory Psychosocial group sessions for 50 persons served, successfully linking 100% of persons served to primary care services, and maintaining 100% stable housing for our persons served. We have also reduced the average number of days between a request for services and initial appointment to two days, and achieved a General Satisfaction score of 4.68/5 from our persons served.
