Our expertise in precision internal honing includes blind holes, tandem bores, interrupted bores, and thin walled parts, with precision sizing and micro-finishing capabilities. We can produce specific micro finish profiles, ensuring that your parts meet the most stringent specifications. Our honing capabilities include dimensions from 0.060" to 28" and stroke length up to 96". We also offer in-house fixture manufacturing and custom tooling capabilities, ensuring that we can handle even the most complex projects.

In addition to our honing services, we specialize in CNC machining, particularly in aerospace materials and tight tolerances. Our state-of-the-art machinery enables us to produce precision machined parts from exotic, high-temperature alloys, as well as conventional materials. We have a 10" chucking 3" thru spindle capability, ensuring that we can handle even the most demanding projects.

Our Legacy

Detroit Diameters was founded in 1955 by Harold Spitery, and has been passed down through the generations, with Craig Spitery taking over as the principle and owner, and his son Jeff following in the family business. Our commitment to quality and expertise has enabled us to survive and adapt to the many industry changes that have come our way, and we continue to hold service and quality to expert level standards. We have had a mechanical engineer on staff since 2006 to help collaborate with our customers on specific requirements and needs for their projects, ensuring that we can provide the expertise and attention to detail that our customers need.
