Our Mission
The mission of the Faulk Center for Counseling is to promote emotional well-being through a variety of free and low-cost mental health programs. We provide a warm, accepting, and confidential environment where people who are dealing with life's problems are helped to make changes or to cope more effectively with things that they cannot change.
Clinical Services
Our model of care utilizes doctoral (Ph. D. & Psy. D.) interns, graduate students, licensed clinicians, and volunteer mental health professionals to provide personalized individual, couples, and family counseling, and group therapy. Additional services include support groups, psychological testing (gifted, autism, & learning disabilities), and community education/training. All services align with the American Psychological Association (APA) and are overseen by full-time licensed clinicians.
Accreditation and Recognition
The Faulk Center for Counseling is Nonprofits First accredited and maintains a Platinum Seal of Transparency through GuideStar. Our Addison Hines Internship Program is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), and we were recently named the 2023 George Long Nonprofit of the year by the Rotary Club Downtown Boca Raton.
Center History
In 1970, Dr. Elizabeth H. Faulk founded the Elizabeth H. Faulk Foundation, a nonprofit charitable foundation, with the objective of providing free and low-cost psychological and mental health consultation services to those in need. In 1973, she established the Center for Group Counseling, the service arm of the Foundation, to ensure that no one would be denied services because of an inability to pay. In 2013, to reflect our 40 years of growth and expansion of services beyond the group model, the "Center for Group Counseling" became known as the "Faulk Center for Counseling."
Our Team
Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to our clients. Our staff includes licensed clinicians, doctoral interns, graduate students, and volunteer mental health professionals. We are led by a board of trustees who are committed to our mission of promoting emotional well-being in our community.
