Our team, led by Elliot Thayer, has been serving the community since 1982. Elliot's commitment to excellence and dedication to his clients has earned him the President's Award from the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce in 2006. His career background, including his experience as an assistant engineer at the Maine Department of Transportation and a manager of the survey division at Doten Associates, has equipped him with the knowledge and skills to handle various projects.

In addition to Elliot, our team also includes Andrew (Andy) Dunbar, who joined Thayer Engineering Company in 1984. Andy provides professional services to title companies, legal entities, and lending institutions, and he works closely with developers and private owners. His expertise in mortgage inspections, shoreland permits, and remedial work has been invaluable to our clients.

Our History

Thayer Engineering Company, Inc. was founded in 1982 by Elliot Thayer. Over the years, we have grown and expanded our services to meet the changing needs of our clients. Today, we are a respected and trusted name in the civil engineering, land surveying, and planning industry.

In 1984, Elliot Thayer bought the building that Thayer Engineering Company now calls home. Since then, we have continued to grow and expand our team, adding new professionals and services to better serve our clients.

In 2012, Bob Clunie retired, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and commitment to excellence. His contributions to the company have been invaluable, and we continue to build on the foundation he helped establish.
