Our roots date back to 1946, when Joseph Smoot established Smoot Brothers Transfer after completing 16 years of loyal service with the United States Army. Our History
Joseph Smoot launched Guardian Moving and Storage in 1952, which became one of the first local Baltimore moving companies, providing local, long-distance, and international moving services. We specialized in providing long-term storage solutions for the Department of Defense and became the largest contractor for the Department of Defense, while providing relocation services for federal, state, and local government agencies.
In 2005, Mario Smoot, one of the three Smoot brothers, launched Platinum Services, Inc., continuing the family tradition of delivering customized moving and storage solutions to our customers. With the assistance of the third generation of the Smoot family, Mario has been delivering the custom and enhanced moving and storage solutions that clients throughout Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC need through Platinum Services and Cubby Mobile Storage.
