Our skirts are designed to fit all sizes and work well with every age, with a covered elastic waistband that slips on and stays comfortable.

Each skirt comes with a one-time waist and length adjustment, so please talk to us when ordering to ensure the best fit. About Navajo Velvet

The story of Navajo Velvet began with a gift to Sherry Lou while visiting a Navajo grandmother in Arizona. That skirt became the unique pattern and inspiration for the entire line of Navajo Velvets. Sherry Lou, the founder of Navajo Velvet, replicated that original Navajo Skirt using her treadle sewing machine and began satisfying the requests of friends and neighbors.

Now, after many years and thousands of garments made, Sherry Lou still brings joy to the eyes and hearts of an ever-growing clientele. Each year, she travels to Los Angeles to select the fabric for each Navajo Velvet garment, personally dying, designing, and cutting each garment. She supervises each step in the process, demonstrating her love for the quality of each and every piece.
