Located just south of historic Troy, MO, Wright Equestrian is a private 20 stall facility that offers a range of services for horse and rider. Our central location, close to the National Equestrian Center of Lake St. Louis, MO and Cuivre River State Park, makes us an easy drive from St. Charles, O'Fallon, or St. Louis County. Our facility includes a multi-purpose 60'x112' indoor riding arena, miles of private trails for leisure, hunt, and cross-country schooling, and a heated lounge for the comfort of our riders.
Training
At Wright Equestrian, we offer an all-inclusive training package that provides comprehensive care and training for both horse and rider. Our tailored training program is designed to help you achieve your objectives, whether you are a pleasure rider or a competitive one. Our training package includes:
- Boarding: Large box stall, hay twice daily or round bale in paddock, grain twice daily, group turn out six days per week (weather permitting), stalls maintained regularly
- Scheduling and handling for farrier
- Mandatory worming program (priced per rotation)
- Use of indoor arena & large viewing mirrors, heated lounge, large outdoor ring with cross country jump course, poles, and barrels, round pens, and jump options on our miles of trails.
Lessons
Lessons are an important component of training and building a partnership with your horse. At Wright Equestrian, we offer lessons at all levels of experience, from beginners to advanced riders. Our versatile lesson program covers a range of specialties, including English Pleasure, Western Pleasure, Showmanship, Poles/Barrels, Jumping and more. Our lesson options include:
- Beginner Youth Leadline 1/2 Hour: Beginner students are accompanied by a knowledgeable handler as they learn the basics of riding and horse care. Parent participation is mandatory.
- Semi-Private Lessons Hourly: Semi-Private lessons are a focused training experience with more than one student - your horse or our academy horse.
- Private Lessons Up to 3 hour session: Private lessons are a one-on-one training experience - your horse or our academy horse.
- All Age Coupon Book 2 sessions weekly (1-3 hours / session): Paid monthly. Riders further develop and specialize their skills, and prepare for competitions, hunts and other events.
Events
Wright Equestrian students are able to participate in a wide variety of events and activities as their skills and experience develop. Many horses and riders trained at Wright Equestrian Center attend national and regional approved shows as well as open and local shows. Our horses and riders have been extremely successful in their showing careers, and we always make sure to have fun at every show! In addition to showing, we also offer numerous opportunities for outside learning and fun through trail rides, fox hunting, and organized rides.
Summer Camp
Wright Equestrian Summer Camp is the perfect solution for kids who want to learn more about riding and caring for horses. Our campers will be guided by counselors and taught by professional equestrian instructors. Wright Equestrian teaches English and Western riding instruction as well as general horsemanship, safety practices, sound riding skills, horse care, feeding, anatomy, and tack. Our camp is a non-competitive, skills-oriented camp that prides itself on giving you safe, sound information and practice with horse care and riding.
Trainer Biography
Christine Watts-Wright, the owner and operator of Wright Equestrian, specializes in versatility at events in and out of the arena. Our students compete successfully in Western, English, Equitation, Jumping, and Speed events. They range from leisure horseback riders who want to have more balance, harmony and control, to top-level National and World competitors.
