Our History

Our golf club has a rich history dating back to the 1800s, when John Sutter, a Swiss entrepreneur, received a land grant from the Mexican government. The land was later deeded to Nicolaus Altgeier, a trapper for the Hudson's Bay Company, who settled at the junction of Bear Creek and Feather River. The 600-acre ranch was eventually sold to the Scheiber Family, who operated one of the largest dairies in the valley and three cheese plants. Today, our golf club is proud to be a part of this rich history, offering a unique and unforgettable experience for golfers of all skill levels.
