TEM Environmental, Inc. was founded in 1985 with a mission to deliver exceptional service in environmental issues management. Our founder, Mr. James Tuinenga, a Certified Industrial Hygienist, has been dedicated to environmental chemistry since 1973. Laboratory Services

Our laboratory operates at our Glendale Heights, Illinois location, providing full-service asbestos testing and analytical services since 1985. We offer Phase Contrast Microscopy for total fibers in air samples, Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) for asbestos in bulk samples, and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) for asbestos in air or bulk samples. Our staff is dedicated to providing service beyond client expectations, ensuring the highest level of professionalism and expertise.

Consulting Services

Our team of professional industrial hygienists is committed to delivering exceptional consulting services. All staff members hold professional licenses and attend annual refresher courses to stay updated on the latest regulations. We strive to create long-term client relationships and exceed client expectations through ethics, integrity, industry knowledge, and technology.

How We Operate

Our project managers and laboratory staff are full-time professionals dedicated to managing projects from identification and assessment of asbestos-containing materials to removal by an independent third party abatement contractor. We take a conservative approach to managing asbestos materials, understanding that many materials can be managed in place until they must be removed prior to renovation or demolition.
