Our Story
The Bleckley Inn was the vision of Steve Kay, an entrepreneur who has invested his time, money, and passion into his hometown. Steve grew up in Anderson and has deep roots in the Electric City. His grandmother was fondly known as "Momma Kay" around town, and his great-grandfather ran a streetcar in the early 1900s. Steve started working at Hill Electric when he was 18 and ended up buying the company in 1991. He transitioned ownership of Hill Electric to a younger generation and was then ready for a new challenge. The Bleckley Inn, a boutique downtown hotel, opened in March of 2011.
