ThomaStudios, founded by JD Thomas, is dedicated to providing high-quality, individualized piano instruction in the comfortable setting of your own home. JD's passion for music began early, and his love for teaching blossomed alongside his musical journey. He started giving private piano lessons while still in college and has carried that dedication through to the present day. Located in West Linn, Oregon, ThomaStudios serves the communities of West Linn and Lake Oswego. Lessons are tailored to the individual needs and interests of each student, creating a personalized learning experience.

Our Approach to Instruction

At ThomaStudios, we believe in building a strong foundation in the fundamentals of music. This includes mastering essential skills like reading music, understanding rhythm, developing proper technique, and training the ear. Once these core elements are well-established, we explore more advanced musical concepts such as harmony, chords, their application within musical scales, accompaniment, improvisation, and composition.
