At Inspirations Assisted Living & Memory Care, we are dedicated to providing joyful and purposeful living to our residents. Our mission is to help each individual discover a new joy of life by giving them purpose, freedom, and dignity in a safe, secure, and fun atmosphere. We focus on the individuality of each resident, learning what brings them energy and life, including their past and present interests. We collaborate with their family and deliver care that incorporates the latest research in Alzheimer's, other forms of dementia, and memory loss.
Our Story
Inspirations was founded by two consultants, Kacey Troyer and Ben Slabaugh, with over 50 years of combined experience in the Senior Living Industry. They started their journey by consulting in the senior living industry and helping hundreds of providers across the US and Puerto Rico. During this time, they saw the need for improvements in the industry and decided to start a new kind of memory care community that challenged the old perceptions of senior care. In 2015, they purchased their first community, a vacant, bank-owned, Assisted Living community on a farm in Westminster, MD. Today, we have expanded to four locations, providing superior care and services to our residents.
Our Services
We offer a range of services designed to provide our residents with a joyful and purposeful life. Our private suites are designed with comfort and safety in mind, featuring custom ADA vanities, high contrast grab-bars, and full bathrooms. Our engaging activities include virtual reality experiences, drum circles, aroma therapy, and bus adventures. We also offer a wellness philosophy that focuses on fewer medications and more outdoor daylight, movement, mental stimulation, and comfortable beds.
Our staff-to-resident ratios are superior, ensuring that each resident receives the care and attention they need. Our owners are on-site frequently, ensuring that our high standards are met, and our residents receive the best care possible. We are dedicated to providing a safe and secure environment, with safe outdoor spaces and walks with raised gardens.
Meet Our Team
Our team is led by our founders, Kacey Troyer and Ben Slabaugh, who are dedicated to providing a new kind of memory care community. We also have a team of experienced caregivers and staff, including Marjorie Cotterman, our Director of Education and Training, who has over 35 years of experience in long-term care and assisted living.

One reviewer had a severely negative experience, citing bullying by caregivers, failure to recognize a severe health crisis, and refusal to readmit their mother after her condition deteriorated.
