Creating Beautiful and Timeless Landscapes, One Yard at a Time.
Advanced Coating Technology (ACT) has been a leading provider of engineered coatings for industrial and military specifications since 1976. Our commitment to excellence and innovation has allowed us to establish a strong reputation in the industry and serve a diverse range of clients.
At ACT, we specialize in the application of powder coatings, which are dry powders that are applied using an electrostatic process and then cured under heat. This method results in a uniform, durable finish that is free from solvents and releases little to no amount of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) into the atmosphere. Our experienced team has the expertise and equipment to apply both powder coatings and paint (liquid) finishes, and we have a conveyor system that spans slightly more than 1/4 mile in total.
Our Services
ACT offers a complete line of industrial finishes for a variety of industries, including aircraft and aerospace, furniture, medical and dental, corrosion-resistant chemical conversion, food processing, mil-spec finishes, and more. We serve the foundry, extrusion, metal fabricating, machining, and stamping industries, and we are equipped to handle parts up to 14 feet in length.
Our degreasing and cleaning services are critical for any finishing method, and we have the experience and knowledge to handle a wide variety of fabrications, extrusions, machined, stamped, and cast parts. We offer hot alkaline cleaning, a five-stage clean and pretreat process, and iron phosphate pretreatment that is RoHS compliant. We also offer grit, shot, and bead blasting, masking, and the design and construction of racks or fixtures for the coating process.
Our powder coating services include the application of epoxy, polyester, and urethane, hybrid thermosets, nylon, and vinyl thermoplastics. We can match colors to RAL, PANTONE, FED-STD-595, or custom colors, and we offer a range of textures, wrinkles, hammertones, matte or gloss finishes. Our coating and process meet UL, FDA, USDA, NSF, AWWA, MIL SPEC, RoHS, and other requirements.
Our painting (liquid) services specialize in MIL-SPEC finish systems, dry film lubricants, fluoropolymer coatings including Xylan and Dykor conductive coatings offering EMI/RFI shielding, and a ceramic metallic (cermet) system that provides excellent corrosion resistance at temperatures up to 1200°F. We can perform extensive masking before applying paint, and we have four separate painting lines with up to 160 feet of conveyor in each. We offer electrostatic and HVLP manual spray application, and our ideal part size is up to 24 x 66 x 24, but we can accommodate larger parts upon request.
Our Equipment
ACT utilizes modern coating equipment, including a conveyor system with a five-stage clean and phosphate pretreatment, dry off oven, spray booth, and in-line oven with a 450F max cure temperature. We apply powder manually with GEMA and NORDSEN equipment, and we have a standalone batch area for R&D work, small runs, extremely small parts, and parts requiring delicate handling. Our painting (liquid) shop features four separate painting lines with up to 160 feet of conveyor in each, electrostatic and HVLP manual spray application, gas and electric cure ovens, and a robotic application of liquid coating in a dedicated room with conveyor, spray booth, electric oven, and make-up air system controlling temperature and humidity.
