At Shine Bright Speech Therapy, we understand the importance of effective communication in shaping the growth and development of our children. As a pediatric speech and language pathologist, I, Alyson Paventa, M.S., CCC-SLP, have dedicated my career to helping children thrive in their natural environment. With over 10 years of experience in evaluating and providing services to children with various disorders, I have honed my expertise in addressing articulation and phonological disorders, receptive and expressive language disorders, and pragmatic language disorders. My passion lies in providing comprehensive services that cater to each child's unique needs, and I strive to build strong relationships with families and caregivers to ensure that communication skills are carried over into daily life.

As a certified and licensed New Jersey Speech and Language Pathologist, I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Penn State University and my Master of Science degree in Communication Disorders from William Paterson University. I proudly hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). My extensive experience includes working with children with a range of diagnoses, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). I am well-versed in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and have received training in Level 1 PROMPT and PECS Level 1.

Consultations

Our consultations provide an opportunity to gather crucial information and background history necessary for evaluating and providing therapy. During these sessions, we educate and advise parents, teachers, and caregivers on target goals from therapy sessions to help carry-over and generalize skills into daily life.

Evaluations

Our evaluations are conducted in the comfort of the child's own home, using standardized assessments, background history, parent interviews, and observations. We provide a thorough written report discussing the findings of the assessment and overall evaluation.

Therapy

Our therapy services are designed to provide individually tailored goals to help strengthen overall communication skills. We encourage family involvement and collaboration during therapy sessions, recognizing the importance of family support in achieving successful outcomes.
