Real Life Nursery School

Real Life Nursery School and Farm has been a cherished part of the Canton, Michigan community since 1948. Founded and owned by the Fraser family, our school has provided high-quality early education and year-round childcare to generations of children. Rooted in a love for learning and a strong sense of tradition, we've cultivated an environment where children can explore, grow, and thrive. Our country-style nursery school, built in 2001 on Geddes Road, offers spacious classrooms, inspiring play areas, and the unique opportunity for children to learn and play on our adjacent "Real Life Farm."

Our Approach to Education

Our Programs

We cater to children ages 2 through 6 with a range of programs designed to meet their individual needs and interests.

• Little Lambs (2.5 to 3 years): Our youngest learners embark on a journey of discovery in a nurturing and stimulating environment. Through age-appropriate activities, they develop essential pre-reading and pre-writing skills, enhance their social and emotional growth, and build a strong foundation for future learning.

• Preschool Pals (3 to 4 years):

Preschool Pals delves further into literacy, numeracy, and language development through interactive play, songs, stories, and creative activities.

• Kindergarten Readiness (4 to 5 years): This program prepares children for the transition to kindergarten by focusing on essential academic skills such as letter recognition, counting, and writing. We also emphasize social skills, problem-solving, and critical thinking, ensuring that children are confident and well-prepared for their next educational adventure.

• Kindergarten (5 to 6 years): Our kindergarten program offers a comprehensive curriculum that covers all core subjects, promoting a love of learning and laying the groundwork for future academic success. We integrate hands-on learning, collaborative projects, and engaging storytelling to create a dynamic and enriching classroom environment.

• Junior Day Camp (June to August): During the summer months, we offer a fun-filled day camp program for children ages 2 to 5. They enjoy a variety of activities, including outdoor games, arts and crafts, storytelling, music, and farm adventures.

Community Connection through Real Life Farm

Our adjacent "Real Life Farm" provides an invaluable resource for our students. Children learn about agriculture, life cycles, and the wonders of nature through hands-on experiences. We host special events throughout the year, including our annual "Children's Day on the Farm, " which raises funds for local children's charities while providing a memorable day of fun and education for the entire family.
