Our History

Our story began on October 24, 1950, when we were first chartered as the International Association of Machinists Local #1349. Over the years, we have undergone several name changes, including Aro Employees Federal Credit Union and finally, Northwestern Federal Credit Union in 2004. We are proud of our heritage and the milestones we have achieved along the way. From purchasing our first building in 1971 to introducing innovative services like Christmas Clubs, Certificates of Deposits, and VISA Credit Cards, we have continuously evolved to meet the changing needs of our members.
