Woolen Mill

Our Story

Sue and Sandy Wycoff, a sister duo, grew up in Meadville, Pennsylvania, where they remember a thriving downtown with plenty of shopping options. Their mother, Dorothy Wycoff, ran the Tik Tok Shop, a women's clothing store. After Sue returned to Meadville in 2009, they discussed reviving downtown with a higher-end clothing store offering styles for men, women, and children. When 257 Chestnut Street became available, they knew it was time to open The Woolen Mill Clothier in the summer of 2017.

The Woolen Mill History

The building at 257 Chestnut Street was originally constructed in 1867 by the Huidekoper Bros as office and sales space for the Meadville Woolen Mills. Over the years, it has housed various businesses, including the Salvation Army, Post Office, Photo Play, clothing stores, and restaurants. The building has been home to numerous enterprises until 1985.
