My name is Rebecca Cook, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor (LCSW-S) dedicated to providing compassionate and effective psychotherapy to individuals in Buda, Texas. My personal journey into the field of mental health was profoundly shaped by early experiences that ignited a passion for supporting others facing their own challenges.

During my college years, I volunteered at a women's crisis center, witnessing firsthand the impact of trauma and adversity. The experience of accompanying women through hospital visits and leading group discussions empowered me to pursue a career dedicated to healing and empowerment. Upon graduating, I immersed myself in the world of substance abuse rehabilitation, working at an inpatient facility serving the indigent population.

My responsibilities ranged from assisting individuals with chemical dependency issues at a halfway house to providing outreach through outpatient services. These early professional experiences instilled in me the foundational values of objectivity, patience, and unwavering commitment to the well-being of every client.

Expanding My Expertise

Motivated by a desire to broaden my understanding and impact, I joined Travis County Integral Care, where I spent five fulfilling years on an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. This groundbreaking program aimed to prevent hospitalizations for individuals with mental health and developmental disabilities by integrating comprehensive services tailored to their unique needs. The success of this initiative filled me with pride, solidifying my belief in the transformative power of proactive and personalized mental healthcare.

Prior to establishing my private practice, I further honed my skills at Ascension Seton Hospitals, creating and leading an award-winning Outpatient Case Management program. This endeavor allowed me to connect with patients across diverse settings, including hospitals, jails, and community outreach programs.

My commitment to providing holistic care led me to serve as a therapist in the inpatient and outpatient units of Shoal Creek Hospital, where I gained valuable experience in treating a wide spectrum of mental health conditions.

My Approach to Therapy

I believe in the inherent strength and resilience of individuals, and my approach to therapy is centered on fostering a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment.

Utilizing evidence-based techniques rooted in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I work with clients to explore the underlying causes of their difficulties and develop personalized strategies for healing and growth.

Furthermore, I integrate concepts of mindfulness, relaxation, stress management, and self-care to equip clients with practical tools for managing their emotional well-being.

Recognizing the unique needs of each individual, I offer EMDR Intensives, extended therapy sessions tailored to address specific concerns and facilitate accelerated progress.

A Deep Commitment to Your Well-Being

My dedication to my clients goes beyond traditional therapy sessions. I believe in empowering individuals to become active participants in their own healing journeys. I strive to create a space where individuals feel heard, understood, and valued, enabling them to unlock their inherent potential for growth and transformation.
