Our Story
Columbus Regional Healthcare System was founded in 1935 by Dr. Warren Edwin Miller, a local physician who started a 12-bed hospital in a Victorian home in Whiteville. Over the years, our hospital has grown and expanded to accommodate the needs of our community. Today, we boast an impressive and highly trained medical staff and other healthcare professionals who represent a range of specialties and are dedicated to the well-being of every patient in their care.

We offer a comprehensive continuum of care to the entire family, with hospital-owned practices providing medical services in Primary Care, Pediatrics, Cancer Care, Orthopedics, Urology, and Imaging. Our advanced care includes:

In November 2007, our board of trustees selected Atrium Health (formerly Carolinas HealthCare System) to assume management of CRHS. Negative Review
The only negative review was from Jackie Campbell-Batten, who was unhappy with the hospital's response to her sister's need for an echocardiogram on Christmas Eve. She felt that the hospital was closed for the holiday and that it would take until Sunday or Monday to schedule the test. She was frustrated because she works in healthcare and is familiar with emergency situations and hospital policies.
