Our Story

Columbus Regional Healthcare System was founded in 1935 by Dr. Warren Edwin Miller, a local physician who started a 12-bed hospital in a Victorian home in Whiteville. Over the years, our hospital has grown and expanded to accommodate the needs of our community. Today, we boast an impressive and highly trained medical staff and other healthcare professionals who represent a range of specialties and are dedicated to the well-being of every patient in their care.

We offer a comprehensive continuum of care to the entire family, with hospital-owned practices providing medical services in Primary Care, Pediatrics, Cancer Care, Orthopedics, Urology, and Imaging. Our advanced care includes:

In November 2007, our board of trustees selected Atrium Health (formerly Carolinas HealthCare System) to assume management of CRHS.
