Essex Theatre Company is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt community theater incorporated in New York State. Our mission is to bring good, inexpensive theater to the surrounding communities, and to provide an opportunity for local adults and youth to participate in the production of plays and musicals.
Our History
Since 1993, Essex Theatre Company has been creating moments that touch, prod, and make the village laugh. We have been fortunate enough to have the Masonic Lodge in Essex, New York as our summer stage. The building, built circa 1810, has a rich history and has been used for various purposes including a small factory, apartments, a movie house, and a summer theatre.
What We Do
Essex Theatre Company is dedicated to providing a platform for local talent to shine. We offer a variety of productions, including plays, musicals, and community events. Our productions are designed to be enjoyable for people of all ages, and we strive to maintain low ticket prices to make theater accessible to everyone. We also offer workshops, such as songwriting and improv, to help develop the skills of our community members.
Our Mission
Our mission is to bring people together through the power of theater. We believe that community theater has the ability to unite people, spark imagination, and create a sense of belonging. We are committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all our participants and audience members.
Get Involved
We invite you to join us in our mission to bring good, inexpensive theater to our community. You can get involved by participating in our productions, attending our events, or making a donation to support our ongoing community projects.
