The Academy of Senior Health Sciences, Inc. (ASHS) is a professional organization dedicated to improving the quality of long-term care for Ohio's most frail and elderly residents. Founded in 1966, the Academy has evolved over the years to meet the changing needs of the healthcare industry, but its core mission remains the same. We are committed to providing public education and awareness initiatives to the long-term care community in Ohio and promoting ethical practices within the profession.

Our membership is diverse, representing small and large skilled nursing facilities, as well as businesses that service the industry. Through our collective efforts, we strive to be a unified voice on vital issues affecting long-term care in Ohio. We believe that by working together, we can create a better future for our most vulnerable residents.

ASHS is a 501(c)4 organization, and contributions are not tax deductible as a charitable contribution for federal tax purposes.

Our Services

The Academy of Senior Health Sciences, Inc. offers a range of services to our members and the long-term care community in Ohio. Our services include:

• Public Education and Awareness Initiatives: The Academy provides public education and awareness initiatives to promote ethical practices within the long-term care profession. We bring the collective influences of our members together into a single voice on vital issues affecting our profession.
• Regional Rapid Response Assistance Program (R3AP): R3AP is a program that provides assistance with vaccination, COVID-19 testing and cohorting, temporary staff support, infection prevention and control education, and crisis staffing support. The program is available to help healthcare providers respond to emerging infectious diseases and other healthcare crises.
• Resources and Guidance: The Academy provides resources and guidance on a range of topics related to long-term care, including policy, regulations, guidelines, recommendations, rules, orders, best practices, and laws. We strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information to help our members navigate the complex world of long-term care.
• Networking and Professional Development: The Academy offers networking and professional development opportunities to help our members build relationships and grow professionally. We believe that by working together, we can create a better future for our most vulnerable residents.
