Our History and Mission

Legacy Healthcare Services was founded in 1999 by an occupational therapist who saw a need for on-site rehabilitative services in senior living communities. For over 20 years, Legacy operated as a therapist-owned corporation and expanded its footprint in communities across the nation. In 2018, Legacy was acquired by Deaconess Associations Incorporated, a non-profit organization that provides healthcare opportunities to those in need. Today, Legacy is proud to offer services in over 21 states, with a mission to empower senior adults to lead a life filled with purpose, safety, and joy.

Our Services

At Legacy Healthcare Services, we understand the importance of individualized care and strive to provide the highest level of service to our patients. Our team of world-class therapists is dedicated to delivering advanced and attentive on-site therapeutic care, focusing on improving the quality of life for senior adults. Our services include:

Physical Therapy: Our physical therapists are specially trained to re-educate muscles to work, retrain other parts of the body to function for those parts which cannot, and teach clients how to manage with their disability with or without equipment.

Occupational Therapy: Our occupational therapists provide treatment aimed at maximizing independence, through re-learning how to perform daily activities or by instruction of others to provide assistance in self-care activities.

Speech Therapy: Our speech-language pathologists provide individualized speech, language, hearing, cognitive, swallowing, and communication services to improve communication effectiveness and facilitate safe swallow function.
