Our History

Lawson Funeral Home & Cremation Services was established in 2001 by Steven S. Lawson, fulfilling his lifelong dream of operating a funeral home from its own location. After moving from Neptune, NJ, to Tinton Falls, NJ, the business encountered economic challenges due to the US economy's decline in 2008. However, Steven's perseverance led him to purchase the building that once housed the Flock Funeral Home at 243 Broadway, Long Branch, NJ, in 2015. Today, it is with immense pride that we offer you the Lawson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC.

Owner/Operator - Steven S. Lawson

Steven S. Lawson is a 1983 graduate of Keyport High School and holds a BA in Business Administration with a concentration in management from Upsala College in East Orange, NJ (1988). Following his passion, he earned a New York State Funeral Director's License in 1991 through Benta's Funeral Home and a New Jersey Funeral Director's License in 1997 under James H. Hunt Funeral Home in Asbury Park, NJ. Steven is happily married to his college sweetheart, Charlene (Davis), since 1995 and resides in Neptune, NJ, with their two daughters, Faith and Hope.
