The Edgartown Art Gallery is a treasure trove of fine art, nestled within the romantic old-world enclave of The Charlotte Inn on the island of Martha's Vineyard. Our gallery represents dozens of contemporary artists of the highest caliber, with vintage pieces from the 1800s and early 1900s as well. We offer a diverse range of artwork, including tranquil landscapes and still lifes, equestrian and sporting art, wildlife and dogs, and idyllic village and beach scenes, all beautifully executed in oil, watercolor, and pastel.
Our Story
Our founder, Gery Conover, has a lifelong passion for art, which began as a boy growing up in Philadelphia, where his stepfather owned a gallery and restored fine artwork. This appreciation grew to encompass a wide range of traditional art, and as he traveled, his knowledge and regard deepened, and he began collecting. In 1971, Gery opened his first gallery on Edgartown's South Water Street, showcasing the work of artists such as Ray Ellis and Carolyn Blish. Today, the Edgartown Art Gallery is located within the elegant Relais & Chateaux luxury hotel, The Charlotte Inn, and features over 200 artworks in oil, pastel, and watercolor, encompassing many genres.
