Your Watch, Clock, and Engraving Professionals
The California Land Surveyors Association (CLSA) is a professional organization that represents the interests of land surveyors in the state of California. Established in 1909, CLSA has been advocating for the land surveying profession for over a century, promoting education and increasing awareness of the profession's value. Our mission is to advance the interests of the land surveying profession by advocating for our members, promoting education, and increasing awareness of the profession's value.
Representation
CLSA represents its members at the local, state, regional, and national levels. At the local level, your chapter represents you in local issues, and through your chapter-elected Director to the CLSA Board of Directors, the individual member has a voice at the state level. At the state level, the Surveyor is represented through an active legislative program, legislative advocate, and liaison with the BPELSG. CLSA is also an active member of the Western Federation of Professional Surveyors, which addresses regional issues, and through institutional affiliation with the National Society of Professional Surveyors, CLSA is represented at the national level.
Educational Opportunities
CLSA presents annual conferences which provide technical and business programs, as well as exhibits of the latest in surveying and computing technology. Seminars and workshops are presented to assist in continuing education. CLSA publishes the California Surveyor magazine and the CLSA NEWS to keep the membership abreast of changing legislation, legal opinions, and other items which affect our profession. CLSA also sponsors monthly webinars to keep members up-to-date on the latest industry developments.
Networking
CLSA is a prime networking resource for young professionals and established firms. Use our extensive Forum to make contact with other professionals or exchange your opinions and ideas.
Resources
CLSA provides a fully staffed Central Office which is available to answer questions or to provide up-to-date referrals concerning legislation, educational opportunities, job opportunities, or other issues concerning our membership. Professional liability insurance programs and other business services and discounts are available through our Affinity Partners.
The Education Foundation
The Education Foundation was established in 1993 and is committed to supporting land surveying students and programs. Last year over $40,000 in scholarship aid was provided to land surveying students. The Education Foundation is dedicated to sustaining land surveying education and creating opportunities for future land surveyors.
Upcoming Events
CLSA hosts various events throughout the year to provide members with opportunities for continuing education and professional development. Upcoming events include webinars on ALTA Surveys and a review of Carnahan v. Lewis. CLSA chapters also host events to provide members with networking opportunities and to keep them up-to-date on local issues affecting the land surveying profession.
At CLSA, we are committed to advancing the interests of the land surveying profession and providing our members with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed. We invite you to join us in our mission to promote education, increase awareness of the profession's value, and advocate for our members at the local, state, regional, and national levels.
