K'STAR is a non-profit, community-based organization creating safe and caring environments for youth and families in 14 Texas counties. Since 1991, we have been empowering individuals to achieve long-term success through counseling, shelter services, and comprehensive support.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a compassionate and supportive environment where individuals can heal from trauma, develop necessary life skills, and successfully transition into independent living.
1. Emergency Shelter
- Provides a nurturing and safe environment for children in crisis, including those fleeing abuse, neglect, or homelessness.
2. Counseling & Psychotherapy
- Free individual and family counseling to address trauma, mental health concerns, and parenting issues.
- Crisis hotline available 24/7 for urgent interventions.
3. Parenting Support
- Educational classes to equip parents with effective parenting skills and strategies for healthy family dynamics.
- Support for families facing truancy, runaways, and other family challenges.
4. Reporting Abuse
- Dedicated hotline and online platform to report suspected child abuse and neglect.
5. Community Outreach
- Regularly organizes events and fundraising campaigns to raise awareness and generate vital funding.
