Welcome to Nantahala Lakeside Cabins, a small cabin community nestled on the serene shores of Western North Carolina's most picturesque and tranquil mountain lake. Our cabins are located in a quiet cove that has been home to our family for five generations, and we are delighted to share this hidden gem with visitors seeking a peaceful retreat.

Our community consists of four cabins, each with its unique charm and character. The two cozy Fisherman's Cabins are located just a few feet from the dock, providing easy access to the lake for fishing, swimming, and boating. The Rippling Brook vacation rental is tucked back in the cove, offering a breathtaking view of the lake from its secluded location. Lastly, our Whispering Lake Lodge is a spacious three-bedroom cabin perched on a hill above the lake, providing stunning views and a perfect place to unwind.

At Nantahala Lakeside Cabins, we offer a variety of services to ensure our guests have a memorable and enjoyable stay. Our private dock allows guests to bring their own boats or rent one from a local marina, providing easy access to the lake for a day of fun on the water. We also have a country store, although temporarily closed, that offers basic necessities, and guests can easily walk to informal restaurants nearby.

Our location offers a variety of activities for guests to enjoy. The area is well known for its fly fishing waters, waterfalls, and whitewater river rafting, all just minutes away. Guests can also enjoy scenic drives, hiking and biking trails, and charming small towns with handmade crafts, museums, and mountain music. The wildlife and beautiful flowers in the spring and summer, as well as the colorful trees in the fall, make Nantahala Lakeside Cabins a perfect destination any time of year.

Whispering Lake Lodge

Our Whispering Lake Lodge is a spacious three-bedroom cabin that offers breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The cabin features a large wrap-around porch with rocking chairs, perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee or soaking in the stunning scenery. The great room boasts a floor-to-ceiling stone gas log fireplace, providing a cozy atmosphere on cool evenings.

The cabin features a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and laundry room on the main floor, along with two bedrooms and baths. The second floor offers a pool table and a full pullout sofa in the open loft, as well as a third bedroom and bath. The cabin can accommodate up to eight guests, making it an ideal destination for families or groups of friends.

At Whispering Lake Lodge, guests can enjoy a variety of activities on the lake just below the cabin, as well as on the river just a few minutes away. The lodge provides easy access to the peaceful mountains that surround our community, offering endless opportunities for exploration and adventure.
