Welcome to Prairie Wind Kennels, Wyoming's Premier dog training center. We are located west of Casper, Wyoming, serving Wyoming, Colorado, Montana, and South Dakota. Our training programs are designed to meet and exceed your expectations, whether your interests are hunting, field trials, hunt tests, or a well-mannered family dog.
Our Training Programs
Our training programs are based upon working with two of the best dog trainers in the country, both of whom have trained National field champions. We tailor our programs to meet your needs and goals, with a focus on developing your dog to its full potential. We train on 1000 acres in Wyoming and 4000 acres in Texas, ensuring your dog will get acclimated to various hunting situations.
Field Trial and Hunt Test
We specialize in young dog foundation work, from puppy to transition work, which includes obedience, force fetch, 3-handed casting, collar conditioning, introduction to birds, and development of marking skills on both land and water. Our training program is designed to provide a solid foundation for field trials and hunt tests.
Obedience Training
Our obedience training focuses on essential skills such as heel, sit, here, and other basic commands. We believe a well-trained dog is essential for any purpose, whether hunting or as a family pet.
South Dakota Pheasant Hunts
We offer guided South Dakota pheasant hunts, providing an immersive hunting experience in some of the best hunting grounds in the country. Our experienced guides ensure a memorable and successful hunt.
Training Grounds
Our training grounds offer expansive areas for training, including wetlands, fields, and forests. This diverse terrain allows us to train dogs in various environments, preparing them for any hunting situation.
