Company History

May of 1978 marked the beginning of Butler Surveying, Inc. as Hobbs and Associates, Inc., founded by principal surveyors Mike Hobbs, Edward Butler, and Ronald Zenkner. In June of 1983, Mike Hobbs left the firm, and the company was renamed Butler & Zenkner Land Surveyors, Inc. December of 1997 brought a significant change as Edward Butler assumed full control of the company upon the departure of Ronald Zenkner. In December of 1998, the company was renamed Butler Surveying, Inc. June of 2000 saw Christopher Butler become a licensed land surveyor and join the firm as a part-owner. December of 2006 marked the beginning of a new era as Christopher Butler purchased the remaining stock of Butler Surveying, Inc. upon the retirement of Edward Butler.

Our Team

Our team is led by Principle Licensed Land Surveyor Christopher M. Butler, PLS, who has been a licensed professional land surveyor since 2000 in the State of Washington and since 2012 in the State of Oregon. Consulting Licensed Land Surveyor Edward A. Butler, PLS, the principle founder of Butler Surveying, Inc., has been a licensed professional land surveyor since 1980.
