At Fisher-Gentry Eye Care, our mission is to provide the highest quality eye care and optical products to our patients in a friendly and compassionate environment. Our team of experienced optometrists, led by Dr. Emily Fisher-Gentry and Dr. Gregory Macagba, are dedicated to helping our patients achieve their best vision possible.

Our History

Fisher-Gentry Eye Care was established in 2013 by Dr. Emily Fisher-Gentry, who returned to her hometown of Bourbonnais to practice optometry after graduating from the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Emily's passion for optometry was inspired by her experience as an optometry student body president and her internship at the internationally renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. Since then, the practice has grown to include additional optometrists, including Dr. Gregory Macagba, who joined the practice in 2018, and Dr. Claire Sanders, who joined in 2021.

• Comprehensive eye exams to diagnose and treat common eye conditions, such as cataracts, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration

• Co-management of surgical patients with local ophthalmologists
• Optical services, including frame selection and lens prescriptions
• Eye care for children, including pediatric exams and vision therapy
• Diagnostic services, including retinoscopy and tonometry
• Patient education and counseling on eye health and vision care
