Welcome to the pediatric practice of Mayra A. Arzon, M.D. We are a team of dedicated professionals committed to providing exceptional healthcare services to children of all ages, from newborns to young adults. Our practice is built on the philosophy that children deserve specialized medical care, and we strive to deliver just that.

Dr. Arzon has been serving the Decatur, IL community for over 25 years, providing comprehensive pediatric care with a sub-specialty training in Neonatology. She is board certified and recertified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Her dedication to the field of pediatrics is evident in the numerous awards of excellence she has received during her training and since.

Pediatricians are uniquely trained to care for children. They spend as much as 3 to six years in pediatric training after medical school, equating to up to 24 times more training in the care of children than Family Practitioners, Physician Assistants, or Nurse Practitioners. Pediatricians see only children and youth, allowing them to stay current on changes in medicine affecting children. They provide comprehensive care of children, including preventative care and early and appropriate care of acute illnesses to prevent their progression.

Meet Dr. Arzon

Dr. Arzon is a specialist in general pediatrics with a sub-specialty training in Neonatology. She has been board certified and recertified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Arzon grew up in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and received her Bachelors Degree in Biology at the University of Puerto Rico, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She earned her M.D. at the University Central Del Caribe (American Medical School in Puerto Rico), her Pediatric residency training at Saint Vincent Hospital in Staten Island, New York, and completed her Fellowship in Neonatology at NYU.
