The story of Water Street Antiques & Interiors began in 1972 when Terry and Chris O'Neill, on their way to Canada, decided to stay in Amador County, California. With no fear and a strong determination to make a living, they embarked on a journey that would lead them to the world of antiques.

The early days of Water Street Antiques & Interiors were marked by the arrival of full containers of antiques from Ireland. The first container, which cost only $1500, was filled with unique and unusual items that the O'Neills had personally selected. This marked the beginning of a legacy that would span over four decades and see the family traveling the world in search of the perfect pieces.

In the late 1980s, Water Street Antiques & Interiors expanded its horizons to Eastern Europe, where the fall of the Berlin Wall presented new opportunities for sourcing antiques. The family's travels took them to England, Argentina, Vietnam, Indonesia, and currently the former Portuguese Colony of Goa, India. Along the way, they met amazing characters, formed lifelong friendships, and gathered a wealth of knowledge and expertise.
