"Neighbors Helping Neighbors, Building a Stronger Community",

Interfaith Caregivers of Polk County, WI is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping seniors and adults with disabilities live independently in their homes. We serve the Polk County community by coordinating volunteers to provide various services, from transportation and errands to home visits and chores. Our mission is to continue the rural tradition of neighbors helping neighbors, and we strive to make a positive difference in the lives of our clients and volunteers.

Our clients are seniors and adults with disabilities who need a little extra help to stay living independently in their homes. We believe that everyone deserves to age with dignity and respect, and we are committed to providing the support they need to do so. Our services are designed to help our clients with daily tasks, reduce social isolation, and improve their overall quality of life.

History

Interfaith Caregivers of Polk County, WI was established in 1995, with help from the state of Wisconsin and Polk County Aging Department. A taskforce was established to find a way to fill the "gaps" in service needs within the community. In 1995, The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation awarded the taskforce a $25,000 grant, and Interfaith Caregivers was born.

Since then, we have grown to serve over 250 clients in the Polk County community. In 2023 alone, we provided over 6,400 volunteer hours, helped 259 clients, and drove over 95,000 miles. We are proud of the impact we have made in the community and are committed to continuing to serve our clients and volunteers for years to come.
