At Schafer Hardwood Flooring Co., we are dedicated to transforming the flooring experience by providing the most durable and striking engineered hardwood flooring on the market. Our story began with a simple conversation between our founder, Scott Schafer, and a colleague about the problems with traditional solid hardwood flooring and the engineered alternatives available at the time. We knew what our clients wanted from their engineered hardwood floors, what they needed, and what they were not finding with the current products on the market.

The Birth of V3

Scott Schafer, the founder and owner of SHFC, started the company in 1981 out of his parents' garage. With a background in Engineering and 36 years of experience in the industry, he led the development of the V3 brand. His ingenuity and integral knowledge in hardwood have been instrumental in shaping the company into what it is today. Scott attributes much of his entrepreneurial enthusiasm to his involvement in Junior Achievement as a young man. When not working, Scott enjoys cycling, water skiing, and spending time with his family.

Laura Schafer, who was raised in the lumber business, joined the SHFC team 15 years ago after being an integral part of the R&D of V3 and V3B. During this time, she has developed the knowledge to educate Architects, Builders, and Flooring Installers, while having the critical analysis of specifications needed to achieve the desired aesthetics for commercial or residential projects. Laura has won several National industry awards for her proficiency in the industry. Outside of work, Laura enjoys her hobbies found in her three children, her love of Needle point and Cross stitching, and enjoying the advantages of empty nesting.

Miranda, who joined the SHFC team in early 2023, is responsible for managing various aspects of customer orders post-placement. Her duties encompass handling change orders, providing production updates, coordinating deliveries, facilitating customer pick-ups, and much more. During her leisure hours, you'll often find Miranda indulging in her love for fishing with her husband, or cherishing quality moments with her family. She also enjoys immersing herself in a captivating book and is eager to receive recommendations for her next literary adventure.

Greg, who has been with the company for 11 years, is responsible for the meticulous milling standards that ensure every V3 and V3B order is of the quality you should expect. His accuracy in milling tolerances provides ease at installation. If not at work, you will find Greg standing in a stream with a fly rod in hand and hopefully a fish on the other end. He has won many notable fishing tournaments and enjoys his time spent outside.

Heather, who has been with us for over 20 years, worked in nearly every facet of the production process of V3 and V3B before becoming the production manager. Heather has two grown sons, one of which serves in the Military.
